Reservoir Level Monitoring and Telemetry
Reservoir operators need a dependable view of measured level and instrument condition at local and remote locations. PLC or RTU-based telemetry can collect a suitable level transmitter signal, display and trend readings, and report configured alarms over the communications links provided for the site. It supports operator awareness; a level measurement alone does not determine releases or replace official flood-management procedures. Automation scope depends on the equipment, operating sequence, existing controls and process requirements. Share the machine details and desired outcome to define a suitable control approach.
Remote site and measurement planning
Confirm sensor mounting, reference datum, cable or radio path, site power, lightning/environmental protection responsibilities and the supervisory endpoint. Define what operators should see when readings are stale, the transmitter is out of range or telemetry is unavailable. Rate-of-rise alarms should use customer-approved thresholds and should be treated as notifications for operator review.
